Tentative Plans

So Alli and I have finally gotten together face to face and hammered out detailes.

Of course Alli has been working tirelessly figuring out how we are getting from place to place on what date and what time, etc etc etc.... And I... well I am here to 'not worry so much' about it.

Now that we hammered out dates I will be searching for which hostels we will be staying at and what we are eating. I have the easy job :)

Lets see.. Our Current Tentative Plans:

- Mega Bus from Pgh to Pilly
- Airplane from Philly to Frankfurt, Ger (transfer flights) then from Frankfurt to Madrid
- Spend the weekend in Madrid, hike on Sat to camp site for WYD11 sleep outside with millions of people from all over the world. Wake up Sunday, have mass with the Pope... hike out of the field... and take a train from Madrid to Barcelona.
- Spend the Night/ Day in Barcelona
- Travel all night From Barcelona to Porto Torres (Sicily)
- Spend 24 hours in Porto Torres, Sicily
- Travel from Porto Torres to Citaveccia, Italy.... then hop on the train to ROME
- Spend 2 days in Rome
- Day Trip to Naples
- Another Day in Rome
- Travel from Rome to Tuscany (Spend the night)
- Travel from Tuscany to Venice (Spend the night)
- Travel from Venice to Florence (Spend the day..) Return to Rome by the evening
- Spend a couple more days in Rome
- Travel from rome to Bari, eat dinner,  then travel from Bari to Patras, Greece over night
- Hop on a train, plane or boat from Patras to Athens
- Spend the day in Athens
- Next day hop on a bus from Athens to Istanbul, Turkey (3 days)
- Take a plane from Turkey to Madrid.  Spend the evening, stay up all night at the bar (until 4am), then board the airplane from Madrid-->Frankfurt-->Philly-->hop on bus-->Pgh!

I believe we are hitting up 15 cities in 3 weeks. WHEW!  we are so so so pumped.  We will keep updating you alla s plans continue to be made

Getting to Know You!

Hello All!


Well, we aren't really yinzers... but we are from Pittsburgh.  AND WE LOVE TO TRAVEL!

We have been the best of friends since 1st grade when we were paired for a scent matching activity. (Kait was the mama bear and Alli was the baby bear) And when we discovered we lived less than a block away from each other we knew it was our destiny to be together. Since that time not only has our friendship grown but our parents have become amazing friends as well. Although complete opposites we compliment each other well and could not be more excited to start this adventure together.

We have decided for our 20th anniversary as friends to explore the Mediterranean: Spain, Italy, Greece and Turkey, in an adventure to experience new cultures, cuisines and lots of beaches!

FOOD! We love food. Coffee, Arts, Science, Reading Books, telling stories, laughing, and making fun cocktails.

Allison: Poe, Hitchcock's Anthologies, Stephen King's short stories, Toni Morrison, Ayn Rand, Matt Ridley, Brian Greene
Kait: Fantasy Stories Like Legends of the Seeker and Harry Potter, Shakespeare, Edward Albe, Eat Pray LOVE, "proof", Love all movies, Marlyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn... I'm a hopless romatic and love old movies.

Allison: I love meeting people with completely different cultural backrounds.

Allison: I am a science nerd working in the research field.
Kait: I am an actress who performs often, teaches daily, creates art constantly and hardly ever sleeps.

One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done

Allison: Skydiving and completely missing the mark :)
Kait: I have met 2 Popes and traveled to places by myself and have always made friends easily there. As well as accomplished many theatrical productions on a shoe string budget.
